Post-Holiday Decorating Inspiration
Well the holidays are rapidly becoming a memory, and even all those post-holiday sales are beginning to wind down. As I slowly strip my house of its holiday decor, I can't help but feel just a little bit sad. My house just seems so sparse.
To raise my spirits as far as my home goes, I created a new floral arrangement for my dining room table. But floral arranging just isn't my forte, so I spent a few weeks memorizing a gorgeous, $250 arrangement at the upscale shop where I work. I found all I needed at Michaels, and recreated the look for about $60. Then I splurged on two Esque candles because they smell so wonderful I had to have them in my home, and their globes are like works of art. I've been looking for some kitchen items as well, particularly a paper towel holder, and found a few at Ballard Designs. And as far as wall decor goes, I am determined to purchase a Christie Repasy canvas print this year.
I was also thumbing through the latest Romantic Homes this week and found two online shops I'd never visited before, but that carry some very pretty shabby-style decor items. Stop by and visit TheBellaCottage.com, and
Shabbyfufu.com.
And if you're looking for some fresh, budget-conscious inspiration, check out the latest issue of BHG's Creative Home. It features a $3,500 whole-house makeover that offers up some fabulous ideas that just about anyone can tackle.

Flowers always cheer me up too, I have made more than a few trips to michaels. Lately I have been looking at art glass as a new table centerpiece.
