Holiday Hostess Gifts
You're invited to a holiday party or dinner, and you want to bring a small but nice gift for the host and/or hostess? What do you do, besides the usual bottle of wine?
I face this dilemma each year, and I've come up with some ideas for you:
- Monogrammed items. Monogrammed gifts are hot right now and easy to find. Lately I've seen monogrammed linen coasters, hand towels, napkins, ornaments, soap, and candles. And people seem to be snatching them up.
- Music. One year, a friend of mine with a vast music library made customized holiday CDs for friends, according to their taste in music. It's still one of my favorite gifts ever.
- Fancy Kitchen Stuff. People love stuff like this set of funky Beaded Servingware, but most won't buy it for themselves. Hand-painted wine glasses and fancy wine bottle stoppers are also great.
- Whatever your specialty may be. I'm an avid beader, so I like to whip up a cute bracelet, wine glass charms, or even key chains for hostess gifts. People love that I made them myself, and I can be sure no one else will be giving the identical gift to the hostess.
I hope your holiday season is fabulous!

One of the ideas I had for this type of events is to by real tea from Persian store. But Just got to one of ethnic stores and find something that tastes good. Rarely someone would do that...

I usually bring (all of these items)
- bottle of wine
- coffee (turkish or specialty)
- something sweet
I find this to be a nice gift, not too expensive but enough to show you appreciate being invited. The wine is customary and the coffee and sweets can also be enjoyed by the other guests (or saved for later).
