Christmas Clearance Sales
At the home decor store where I am presently employed, we braced ourselves for a crowd. We re-opened after the holidays on Dec. 27, and had extra staff in place to deal with what we thought might be a lot of customers shopping our after-Christmas sale. And although we did have good, steady traffic, it wasn't quite as busy as we expected.
So I wondered...why? Were people just too tired? Too full from eating to much? All shopped out? I suppose different people have different reasons for not coming out and trying to nab great bargains for next year. Some people really aren't long-term planners either. If you're not, and you just made it through the holiday season, next year's holiday season might be just too far off to worry about.
Anyway, if you like a good bargain, now's definitely the time to hit the stores, even online stores. Walmart.com has a few cute Christmas items on clearance, and Target has lots of great holiday home decor deals. I found some nice bargains at a cute online store called Christmases Past, and if you like cabin-style decorating, check out these deals from Black Forest Decor.
And remember, if you have expensive taste that you can't always accomodate, this might just be the time of year when you can indulge a bit. Check out these deals from Red Envelope and Williams Sonoma's Winter Sale--not the cheapest stuff you'll find in post-holiday sales, but great for a splurge on something special now that prices are lower.
