Decorating Books I Want Now

I thumb through a least three or four decorating magazines each month, in search of ideas for my home and my blog. But it's rare that I will plunk down $20+ for a decorating book. But I've been searching through Amazon this week, and I found a few that definitely look like they're worth the money.

My wish list now includes:

  • Art of the Cross, by Mary Emmerling--My husband has been collecting religious art for more than 15 years, and I've gotten to be quite skilled in spotting fabulous pieces to add to his collection. And since this book is from one of my all-time favorite decorators, I will definitely be picking up this one soon.
  • Crafty Chica's Art de la Soul, by Kathy Cano Murillo--After seeing her work on her Web site, I fell in love with her funky, Southwestern/Mexican style.
  • The Houses of Old Cuba, by Llilian Llanes--As the daughter of Cuban transplants, I can't resist looking inside some of the beautiful homes that my parents spoke of throughout my childhood.
  • Martha Stewart's Homekeeping Handbook, by Martha Stewart--Yes, I'll admit it, I love Martha. And her books always have such lovely photography.
  • I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence, by Amy Sedaris--Okay, how hilarious does this book look? I gotta have it.

Comments

I too am addicted to shelter porn. I always get a windfall of books at the holidays.

I know they're in the library, but I like to own them, because I'll remember some small detail and want to see how it was done. 0r I'll want to find an idea for, say, lighting fixtures, and will look through my stash of decor books looking for that specific thing.

Yes, it's a sickness, but I can stop any time I want...
