Tip of the Week--Plates as Wall Art

So you have an empty wall and you want to fill it up stylishly? Well if you're tired of just hanging artwork wherever you have a space, here's a low-cost alternative to a framed print. Just go to your local flea market or thrift store and pick up some plates or platters that catch your eye. Next, fasten plate hangers on the back of each, and lay out a grouping on the floor until you've achieved a look that pleases you. Last, hammer hooks or nails into the wall, hang up your plates, and sit back and admire your handiwork. You've just created a beautifully decorated area where you once had a boring, empty space.

I have seen this idea and it works brilliantly. I love random styles of the one object (not just plates!)all together..I do something similar with photos. Different styles, orientations, some B&W, some color, some Sepia, and no rhyme nor reason to placement! Only thing that is the same is frame color. They are all black...
