New Decorating Ideas on the Web
I've been surfing the Web this week, looking for some decorating ideas. Despite the fact that I have a very full portfolio of clipped magazine articles and Web site printouts, I need more. I'm B-O-R-E-D with my rooms. I want something current, something fabulous. Oh yeah, it all needs to fit in with my home's general style, my needs, my family's needs, and I must to be able to do it all myself and on a budget.
Too much to ask? No way! I found these great ideas in just one day:
- Country Living magazine's Budget Makeover, where they decorated almost an entire house for $10,000. (They even had to buy some furniture and appliances.)
- Country Living magazine's Relying on Her Instincts gave me some great ideas that fit nicely with my current cottage-style home. What's really cool is how the homeowner uses black and white, but it doesn't look harsh or contemporary.
- ivillage's Faux Fabulous: Furniture Finishing and Decorating Ideas offers detailed instructions for FIVE different faux finishing techniques.
- MarthaStewart.com has two huge lists of ideas (Good Things and Decorating Projects), and some of the projects (especially on the Good Things list) are super-easy, even for the crafting-impaired. (And if you're hosting a Super Bowl party this weekend, check out the site's main page for party food recipes.)
